Gentle Giants

Kaytla, the ewe who had triplets, one still born, looks like she is developing mastitis. I noticed that one teat was twice the size of the other, and that both lambs were nursing on the other side. I asked on the ISBONA list to make sure I should intervene, and milked her out by hand

And another ram lamb!

Boy! What is it with us and boys this year?! Frank had to leave early this morning, so we were up and about way earlier than I usually am. I couldn’t resist walking out for a lamb check, though, and sure enough, there was Fiona, cleaning off this little guy. Yup, we saw huge horn

Hurry up and wait

I’m a bit tired of this prolonged winter. The snow was almost gone when we got this recent coldsnap and accompanying snow. The puppy loves it, of course, and I should be used to it, but we have so much to do that needs good weather that I’m getting frustrated. My to-do list just

VPNs and HughesNet Satellite Internet

Right up front, Don’t get satellite internet if you can get DSL or cable. Don’t even think about it. If you can’t get DSL or cable, seriously think about a dedicated dial up line (personal), or a fractional T1 (business) as alternatives to satellite. It’s that bad. I’ll put a geek appendix at the end
