Walk About

We did a walk about after work today, just to see what’s coming up. There are definite daffs and species tulips all over the place at this point. The cats all had a great time following us around, though mostly they enjoyed playing around with me on the front porch deck, dashing around the sawmill

Pond Perils

There seemed to be enough open water to start the pond pump today, so I did. Unfortunately, the water smelled of decay, and as the ice melted I saw two dead frogs. This does not bode well for the fish. Unfortunately we really don’t know what we might have done wrong. Too many dead leaves?

Our Poor Pumpkin

I had this bright idea that we should plant pumpkins in the raised bed just outside the basement door. Years ago, in the old house (before the fire), we’d used this area as a compost thing. Nothing formal, we just tossed all of our veggie scraps there, trying to both fill up the raised bed
